Angie over at Health Not to Health Nut (also of My-So Called Chaos) nominated me for The Liebster Award! I've never been nominated for an award before so this was pretty exciting! Plus I've been having a little bit of a rough couple weeks so this was a nice pick me up.
This award is given to new or up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers ...the award is then passed along to other bloggers in the same category to help spread the word and support one another.
The rules are as follows:
1. Each blogger should post 11 random facts about themselves.
2. Answer the questions the tagger has set for you, then create 11 new questions for the bloggers you pass the award to.
3. Choose 11 new bloggers (or with less than 200 followers) to pass the award to and link them in your post.
4. Go to their page and tell them about the award
5. No tag backs.
11 Random Facts About Me:
1. I'm kind of a pack rat. If there is a memory attached to something I have a HUGE problem letting go....which made Project Life great for me, because now I have a place to stick tickets, flyers, stickers and any other flat object.
2. I am terrified of forgetting...anything. Part of the reason I take thousands of pictures every year is because I am so scared that one day I won't remember any of it...Another great reason for me to do PL :o)
3. I have 3 cats and a dog...all of them rescues. There are so many pups and kitties out there that have sad stories and no homes...if we ever have room for another pet it will be a rescue.
4. I never get lost. I go on adventures. Makes it much more fun when you take a wrong turn.
5. I am never...EVER on time. For anything.
6. I only feel truly at peace when I am near the ocean or large body of water.
7. Sometimes I don't blog, because I'm not sure anyone will be interested in the subject I
want to write about. I really, REALLY need to get over that.
8. My least favorite chore to do is dishes. I would rather clean out the litter box than touch the dishes. No idea why.
10. I am almost positive that I have never slept through the night. Never, as in, since the day I was born. I'm much better at napping than actually sleeping.
11. I love flying. During the moment the plane lifts off the ground, my eyes are closed picturing the place I'm headed and I usually have a huge grin on my face. I haven't flown in a long while and I really miss it.
11 Answers to 11 Questions:
1. What is your number one hope for 2013?
To find myself again and be really happy with who that person is.

2. What changes are you making for yourself this year?
My husband and I got back on a healthy eating track and I've stepped up my fitness. I'm also doing some slow, but major spring cleaning and organizing. I operate well in complete chaos, but I'm a lot happier when things are organized and ready to go.

3. What inspires you to keep blogging?
When I receive a sweet comment on a blog I feel like someone is reading and it keeps me writing. Sometimes life events and the crafts I create. :o)
4. Who do you blog for?
Funny question. I don't have many readers, so I mostly blog for myself I guess and anyone who is interested in reading. I blog to remind myself of events, to keep track of craft projects I complete, to motivate myself and hopefully others (with Fat Ass Friday.) I also have really come to love the blogging community, I have "met" some really wonderful people out there in the blogging world.
5. Where do you see your blog in 5 years?
Ha...I was always awful at answering this question when my bosses asked me at work. I'm relieved that my current bosses don't bother (mostly because at 2 and 4 they can't currently comprehend 5 years in the future.) In five years I would like to see my posts be more consistent. It would be nice to have more readers too. It's mostly a personal blog, but it's nice to have company!
6. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Indiana Jones. Basically anyway. The dream started with Indy...then my family visited Cyprus when I was 9 or 10 and we visited some ruins. At the time there was no money to pay archaeologists to excavate so there were pieces of ancient pottery all over the place. It seemed like a grand dream to go back one day and study those sites. Then after high school I actually met a couple of archaeology majors and the dream kinda got crushed. Turned out for the best though. I still love reading about the history of places and get a thrill out of visiting, but being a stay at home mother is what I was meant to do.
7. What is your greatest accomplishment?
I would say deciding to make a major life change and start being healthy for my kiddos. It hasn't been an easy journey, and there has been some back sliding, but I am a lot happier than I was before I started. At the moment I'm down 60 pounds from my heaviest and I'm pretty proud of that.

8. What advice would you give someone trying to get healthy?
You have to be ready...really ready. It's not enough to know you SHOULD be healthy or be told that you need to lose weight. You actually have to want it and YOU have to need it AND you have to be willing to make a life change. It's also important to remember NOT to beat yourself up if you aren't healthy ALL the time. We all need a piece of chocolate cake or a glass of wine...or a lazy day watching movies in our pajamas.

9. What's your fondest childhood memory?
Adventures with my father. We would go on trips into the city...New York, London...sometimes for a drive. We usually had a place or two in mind, but it always seemed to turn into much more. He taught me to read maps and explore and search for new and exciting places. I'll always be grateful for that.

10. Do you have a favorite pair of shoes? If so what are they?
Probably my brown knee high boots. There is only a very short window I can wear them in Dallas and I adore them. Although, my new black boots are a very close second!

11. What is one health trend you wish would just disappear?
"Magic" weight loss pills. There is no magic easy way to lose weight...and if there is you won't magically keep it off. I suppose this isn't really a health trend though...those pills rarely seem healthy.
My Nominees - This was supposed to be 11, but I actually had a hard time coming up with 11 small blogs that I follow...and I kept stalling, until I realized that while it would be nice to have 11, there is no reason it HAS to be 11.
