Wish List Wednesday - Newborn Photo Props

I've been looking at newborn photos a lot lately. Part of me is sad that I didn't try to take some fun artsy photos of Munch...the other part cannot wait to start taking pictures of Nox.
There are so many props out there for people wanting to photograph newborns...I made a treasury on etsy to show off my personal favorites.

My Boys Monday - Tye Dye

I got it in my head that I wanted to tye-dye the sheets for the nursery...and I couldn't just do sheets....so last weekend we dyed a bunch of onesies and shirts.
And tested some different techniques, like stripes and spots.
An arrow head...which ended up being our favorite even though it looked more like a V.
Bull's Eyes were also fun to make. John made one for him too...when Nox gets here I'm totally taking pictures of the matching boys. :o)
And of course we couldn't forget the sheets!! The multi color is for Munch...we couldn't leave him out.
We left everything to soak in the dye overnight...for maximum vibrant colors. I totally want to tye-dye again in the future. I have a white sheet I want to cut down into half yards and dye for crafts and I really want to try some more sheets. If you try doing sheets just be warned...they use a TON of dye...buy extra!!

My Boys Monday

I actually made this last month...but until pretty recently I hadn't got any decent pictures. I've seen Tie-Shirts everywhere and kept thinking: "I'm positive I could do that." But as with most things it got put on my mental to-do list for later. Until I found this fabric...which I HAD to buy....
and a tie-shirt just seemed a perfect project for it. I did find a tutorial complete with pattern, here, but to be honest I didn't really like the sharp corners...my dad's ties always had soft rounded corners...so I made my own template and I just zig-zagged it directly onto the shirt...mostly because I didn't feel like taking out the iron.
It's not a neat job...because I didn't do the whole applique process and just sewed it on, BUT I love the end result. I'm going to try being lazy more often.

Scrappy Saturday

Well I was hoping to get more done, but instead I've been enjoying my off. I did manage to get two layouts finished though.

Today I've been working on a couple special orders. I finished one and the second should be ready tomorrow. The crib is here and up so I'll be working on the bumper next. I don't think the lack of a mattress will cause any problems. Wish me luck!

Good-Bye June and a Couple Pregnant Pages

I decided that I will be making at least a bumper for the crib, so while I'm waiting for the stuffing to arrive I have a little time to do other things...like a couple orders I need to fill AND my pregnancy scrapbook. Should be pretty relaxing in comparison to what I've been doing.

First is my Good-Bye to June...a little late, but better late than never.

Next up some pregnancy pages. I'm 32 weeks today and offically 8 months...SO, I have a TON to catch up on!!

Diaper Stacker

I finished the diaper stacker yesterday. I was super nervous about doing it, because I was working without a pattern for the first time. I used Lyndon's stacker as reference and went from there.
I can't believe how quickly it came together! Time will tell how sturdy it is, but it looks like it will hold up. I've already filled it with newborn diapers....I forgot how tiny they are! Not sure what's next, I'm trying to figure out if I want to make a crib skirt and bumper or just buy white ones. I have plenty of fabric still, but not so much time.

Curtains for Nursery

I finished the curtains for Lennox's nursery today. I decided to be lazy about it and just added fabric to black curtains that I had shortened.

Please forgive the lighting and the "beautiful" view. It's a rainy day and I can't hide the view until the desk is moved.
I totally love how they turned out. Next up...a diaper stacker, which should be interesting, because I'm working off a pattern I created using Lyndon's.
