Fat Ass Friday - Week 9

Starting Weight: 200
Last Weeks Weight: 178
Current Weight: 178
Weight Loss This Week: 0
Total Weight Lost: 22

No pounds lost this week. Boo. BUT I kept going with C25K....I even was a brave girl and started week 2 instead of redoing week 1 like I was thinking about doing. If I had known how hungry running would make me, I'm not sure I would have ever started. I'm STARVING. Spark People is awesome and tells me if I'm burning too many calories and not eating enough...but they are mean and haven't told me that since I started running.
Running exhausts me and I can't breath and I'm sore....did I mention I'm STARVING? At the same time I really love it, which is slightly confusing. Why do I like to torture myself? A friend of mine tried to talk me into doing a 5k next month, but I'm a serious wimp. I run at night...I tell myself it's because that's the only time I can run, the boys are asleep and the hubby is home. The truth is I could do it when the hubby gets home from work, when it's light outside...the boys don't care if I'm there. The truth is, I don't want anyone to actually see me run. Which is probably the same reason I don't want to join a 5k. Cause I'm a freaking wimp.
Anyway, I have a few recipes to share, but they will have to wait, cause all I really want to do is jump into bed and stay there...maybe have someone bring me a mountain of chocolate ice cream and a steak.

are you eating more when you exercise?

Oh! It sounds like we all had a pretty tough week last week. Keep up the running. It will pay off.

I used to be starving too after a run. I started increasing my protein intake after a long or hard workout, and that seems to have done the trick.

I like to make fruit smoothies with my Magic Bullet and add one scoop of a protein powder for that extra bump of protein. You have to go easy on that stuff (I only use them after a long workout) cuz they can skew a weight loss plan if you're not careful!

If you're not into smoothies, try eating some eggs or lean meat after a workout. Extra fiber helps, too.

Good luck and thanks for stopping by my blog!

LOVE this post! It was really hard for me to start walking when I did before, because I didn't like people seeing me. But I forced myself. Fact is, you ARE running though. I don't think it would hurt to never do a 5k as long as you are still taking care of yourself and all. Some people just don't do them. HOWEVER, I think you might actually want to once you are more into the running! You'll start getting more comfortable with yourself. I would like to if I can ever even get to running without pain. When I was in better shape and would try to start running (and well before my left leg issue) I had issues with my shins (I think it was called shin stints or something like that). Enjoy your running! I'm jealous!
