Happy Thanksgiving

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
note: One year olds do not like making stamp prints of their hands. This project took way more patience than I thought it would. I'm so happy I did it though!!

Adorable Thanksgiving Cards

Designing Moms has this fantastic little idea on their site. HAD to share. Don't know if it will work with Munch and his little one year old hands...but I'm going to give it a go!! Just need to wait for Daddy to get home tonight!

My Little Gnome

So far I haven't gotten as many pages done as I had planned. To much on my plate I guess. I did manage to complete these two pages though. The pictures are from our trip to The Dallas Arboretum the day after Munch's 1st birthday. It was so much fun. Wish we could make it to the Christmas festivities too!

My First Quilt!

I've been wanting to make a quilt for a while now, but up until recently have been to nervous to take it on. I finally sucked it up and made this for one of Lyndon's Christmas presents.

It's a Mini I Spy Quilt from Make and Takes. If I had known it was going to be this easy I would have made it a long time ago. The bias tape and I had a couple arguments, but other than that it was SUPER easy!! I think I might be ready to tackle another...after my four million Christmas presents are done of course!

A Note on Crafting-A-Long and Wish List Wednesday

In case you missed the comment from Holly here it is:

"...a craft-a-long is where we make a project together. someone is the "leader" and post a set of instructions periodically--could be weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, daily, or sporadically. "

Alisha and I kinda talked about it and decided that maybe we could start in January. We had mentioned doing one per month. The host could list the project on the 1st of the month and then it would be due on the last day of the month...the host could list a link to all the splendid completed projects then as well.

We also mentioned maybe doing a theme a month ahead. So for January we would do a Valentine type craft. February would be St. Patrick's and so on.
I was also playing around with the idea of having a kids craft-a-long every month too. Mostly because I love this one for Valentine's Day.

Anyway, that concludes my spill on Crafting-A-Long. Would love if we could do this. The more people the better!
And now for my Wish List Wednesday portion.
Kaiser needs a new doggie tag and I just love this one from Make Your Dog Smile.
Of course if he gets a new tag he should also get a new collar.
This one is from K-nine Couture and they also make leashes to match!

Happy Belated Birthday

It was Alisha's birthday on Friday and I was having a little scrapping block so I decided to make a page for her. She's getting her family's pictures done again this month, but I love these ones she took at the beach this summer and I hadn't gotten to use this kit yet. Hope you like it girl and HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!

Next I decided to use a picture I took of John on our road trip a few years back. I've already made two scrapbooks of the trip, but I've always loved this photo. Completed using:

Holiday Wreaths

Alisha and I were talking about starting a craft-a-long since we haven't been able to get together for a craft night in FOREVER. We thought about doing holiday wreaths in November so that they would be ready to be hung in December. She has already made a very cute Square Fall Wreath with her kids. Today I was looking at my daily blogs and found a tutorial for this fabric wreath.

Now I'm REALLY wanting to make one.

I'm also really liking these:

1. Pinup Wreath
2. Button Wreath
3. Present Wreath

I'm for sure doing the Pinup Wreath for this year. I always have trouble figuring out what to do with all my Christmas cards and this idea is perfect. Plus I don't think it will take to much time out of my gift making.

The fabric wreath I want to do for next Autumn as I know I won't get one done in time for this year and I already have a pretty Christmas wreath for my front door.

I also still want to do a monthly Craft-A-Long if anyone is interested!

The Stocking Was Hung...

Since Lyndon's 1st Christmas last year I have been searching for his permanent Christmas stocking. A couple of weeks ago I found it in Better Homes and Gardens: Holiday Craft magazine.

I have to say this is my favorite project so far. It didn't take me very long at all and I think it turned out SUPER cute.

Wish List Wednesday

Here is my massive to-do list:
Sadly that's not it either...not even close. I need more material...lots...and Christmas is quickly sneaking up on me.
So this week, I would like to wish for lots more time.
Or this cute guy to keep me smiling while I stay very busy!!

Toes

I made this frame in August for my hubby's birthday...and am only now getting around to posting it.

The caterpillar is Munch's little 9 month toes. Got this idea searching around for thumb print art and thankfully found some toe art too. It's super hard getting a 9 month old to cooperate with you when you are trying to paint his fingers and use them as stamps. Toes were much more fun and a lot more ticklish!
Here are some places to find more ideas:
Thumb Print Zoo
Ed Emberley (You can also check out his books at the library!)

Enjoy!!
