Project Life: Weeks 2 and 3

I had this plan, to be organized this week and credit some of the wonderful people that helped me with weeks 2 and 3. I've downloaded some wonderful Project Life templates and printables that have been a great help. Sadly, my laptop decided that it was done holding a charge on Sunday and is now visiting a service center somewhere until it can be fixed. On it is a majority of the Project Life stuff I have collected and all the info I need to give credit where credit is due. So PLEASE forgive me.
I'm also working on our ancient and extremely slow desktop. I can't edit my photos like I want to and a lot of my pictures are still on my laptop. So staying on top of things for the next couple weeks may prove challenging.

Week 2: Page 1

 Week 2: Page 2

I've started working on a 4x6 cook book and Project Life is actually pretty perfect for keeping myself on track for this project. As I make the recipe, I take pictures and create the recipe card. Then print two copies. One for Project Life and the other for my cookbook.

Week 3: Page 1

I've had the quote below pinned on my Motivation and Inspiration Board forever and thought this would be a perfect quote to doodle around and join up with a milestone picture of me after losing 79 pounds.

Week 3: Page 2

Not sure if the photos are dark or if it's the computer, but hopefully you can see the pictures alright. I know that I got some of my templates on these pages from Catherine over at Design Editor. She has some really fantastic freebies, but I find her whole blog very inspiring. Hopefully, I'll have my computer back next week sometime...crossing fingers.

I'll be linking this blog up to Project Life Tuesday (even though it's Wednesday) over at The Mom Creative.

Project Life: 2012 Title Page and Week One

Yep, I'm crazy...totally and completely. I am the queen of procrastination and on week 34 I decided to finally start Project Life.

I decided a while ago that it was something I wanted to try.
  1. I take thousands of pictures every year and sadly a majority of them never leave the confines of my computer...unless I share them on my blog, Facebook or Shutterfly.
  2. I save everything. If a piece of paper might have a memory behind it...it's probably somewhere in my house. It's a problem...but I'm not a hoarder, so I figure I'm okay.
  3. Before kids I was an avid paper scrapper...then I had Munch and I couldn't keep my scrappy mess out all of the time...so I started digi scrapping. I still have ALL my paper scrap stuff.

So, I bought some page protectors for Project Life and got started. It's taken be a little while to get organized, but I'm there and I love doing it. I love documenting all the little memories I would otherwise forget. Printing photos that might have stayed on my computer.

Here is my title page for 2012 and Week One.

First week was all digital, but I've got my paper scraps going now too. Love this project...it's totally getting my creative juices going again.

The Dallas Flea

This Saturday we headed to South Side on Lamar for The Dallas Flea.

There were a ton of vendors selling vintage and beautiful handmade items.
(can you spot the Munchman scoping out the wares?)
Munch was soon searching for an exit though. Maybe crafts and vintage treasures aren't his thing. Hmmm...
South Side on Lamar is a pretty narrow space and not the easiest to navigate with a stroller and two kids. While trying to look at all the wonderful items, I was reminded why I don't generally like to bring the kiddos along on these adventures.
I did get a couple goodies though.
Kayla of Cole Paper Co. was there and I purchased an L print for the boys art wall in their hallway and a pretty postcard with a Audrey Hepburn quote.
She was also advertising some beautiful personalized Christmas cards. I might have to see if she can do something similar that I could frame and have up year round.

Then I saw some amazing pumps at Jarma. I don't have anywhere to wear them...but I couldn't pass them up.
Love them.
I have a million things on my wish list now...hopefully I'll be able to purchase a couple at The Dallas Flea December event on December, 1st.
If ya want to read more about the event this past Saturday, check out my sister's blog Lavender and Pink. She got some amazing shots and wrote up some great reviews on some of the vendors that were there!
