Wish List Wednesday

Today I'm wishing I were an octopus...so that I could majorly multi-task.

However, I may have to settle on this adorable shirt instead.

A Stampin' Birthday

For my mother's 60th the girls went over to my Auntie Nancy's for dinner, drinks and cake....AND to make a couple fun cards. The cards were a little complicated for women drinking champagne, but I think we managed just fine. Nancy has a friend that does Stampin' Up and she taught us the cards. It was the first experience I've had with anyone from that company where I didn't feel pressured to buy anything.

I forgot my camera, so this is the only picture I got of the night. My sister and I with our beautiful rose cards. Hopefully my Aunt will send me the ones she took.

Here is a better picture of the rose card. It's embossed and then water colored using stamp ink. Did anyone else besides me ever emboss over their toaster?

Here is the second card we made. Much harder than the first, or I guess much more detailed. Our teacher had special stuff to line everything up correctly, but I have no patience so I just eyeballed it.

Here is what it looks like when you open the card. I'm thinking about making cards with my non-digi scrapbook stuff...so there may be many more in the future. Hopefully at some point I'll have the heart to give them away.

60 Year Old Blanket

Today I finished a throw blanket for my mother's 60th next week. My sister picked out the colors. At first I wasn't sure how much I would like them, but they look fantastic together. Part of me really wants to keep the blanket to myself.

On to the next project!! I'm thinking pillows for my living room and then starting on Christmas presents!

Wish List Wednesday

I wish I had a NEW and WORKING oven...because I think these are the cutest!!

Actually I wish I could make everything at Bakerella,

but alas...no oven...maybe I'll sneak over to the old house one weekend and bake...

Dinosaur Birthday!

I feel like I've been working on this outfit FOREVER, but it's finally finished!! Lyndon is having a dinosaur themed first birthday and so I made him this outfit. The hem on the pants gave me some trouble, so they aren't perfect, but I think overall it came out well.

Hopefully the next project won't take so long to complete!!

The Tale of a Boy and His Turtle

Received some pictures from Alisha today and was inspired to scrap. I made it 8 1/2 by 11 so it would print easily (I hope). Happy early b-day little man!

Spun Carnival Throw

It is entirely possible that my sister has lost her mind. She saw this throw at Anthropologie and decided that I was talented enough to make it for her.

I'm not sure if I should laugh because she's crazy (I promise I have no idea how to do half that many stitches) or if I should be proud of myself because someone thinks I'm just that good. I think I might have to give it a go...even if it's going to take me 100 years. It would at least be a decent learning experience.
